Nail of the Day- Revlon Vintage Rose

Hi guys :)

This is going to be yet another NOTD post, apologies for the amount of these I'm posting lately. I am still doing prep for my big June haul which should be up within the next couple of days.

So on with this nail look..

I decided not to bother with any basecoat for this look. I prepped my nails the night before by just buffing them and cleaning them. I applied one coat of Revlon Colorstay nail polish in Vintage Rose. I have featured Revlon Colorstay on my blog before. It is definitely fast becoming my favourite nail polish. This colour is a dark dirty pink almost bordering on terracotta. This polish is an absolute dream to apply with its creamy texture and fan-shaped brush.
This polish leaves a lovely gel-like finish to your nails without the need for a topcoat. I did however use a topcoat for this look, again I used a Revlon Colorstay topcoat. This too is another favourite of mine. Revlon Colorstay is relatively new on the Irish market, but I believe they have been available for quite a while in the States.

Revlon Colorstay is available at selected Boots stores

Nail of the Day- Sally Hansen Nail Effects

Afternoon guys!

I thought I would show you these nifty nail wraps I picked up a while ago. I know I am probably a little behind only featuring these now; but I absolutely adore these nail wraps, so easy and quick to apply. No more blasting hairdryers either. These come in a range of colours and designs. The style I chose was 320- Kitty, Kitty. They claim to last for up to 10 days, but I will have to see that for myself! These wraps also include a mini cuticle stick and nail file.

I would recommend these for special occasions as they fit any nail shape or size. These aren't cheap, retailing from €8.95, I wouldn't be wearing these for everyday.
Sally Hansen nail wraps are available in selected pharmacies and Penney's stores.

Have you tried nail wraps before?
What do you think?

Nail of the Day- Revlon Buttercup

Hey guys!

Hurray for double blog posts!

This is my new favourite yellow nail polish. It is completely opaque and only requires about 2 coats, instead of the usual required 4 or 5 coats for any other yellow nail polishes I've tried.

For this look I used the Revlon Colorstay basecoat, and for the topcoat I used Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri.
Revlon Colorstay are relatively new in Ireland and are available in larger Boots stores. They claim to give you a gel-like finish, which I completely agree with! The formulation of these polishes is quite thick, but they leave a fabulous gel finish, and is a great polish to try if you hate using topcoats as the finish is very glossy.

Revlon Colorstay are available in selected Boots stores

MUA HEAVEN AND EARTH PALETTE- Review+Swatches

Hey guys!

Apologies for not posting in a while, I have just been super busy the last couple of days and haven't found the time..........until now!

I have been umming and ahhing about doing a review on this product, but I thought I'd give it a shot as I haven't really done many reviews on products on this blog, let me know if you would like to see some more reviews on this blog, I hope you enjoy :)

So on with the review..
So this of course is the MUA Heaven and Earth palette. MUA is an excellent drugstore/ highstreet makeup brand, with really affordable products starting at just £1/€1!! They have a huge range of eyeshadow palettes starting from just £4/€5. If you haven't checked them out, I highly suggest you do! MUA is available from Superdrug. This eyeshadow palette is great for someone on a budget, which I should be *naughty naughty!*. This retails for £4/€5 (I thought my eyes were deceiving me!). For 12 eyeshadows that really is a bargain!!

This palette features a lot of warmer toned browns and a few cooler champagne shades, which are fantastic for an all over base colour. The pigmentation of these are fantastic so a little goes a long way with these. The palette does come with a sponge applicator, I prefer not to use these, but thats just personal preference.

This palette would be great for someone just starting out with makeup or looking to experiment with different looks without shelling out top dollar for just a single eyeshadow. With this palette you are getting 12! MUA do also have tonnes of other eyeshadow palettes, which are definitely worth checking out and are all around the £4 mark.

MUA products can be found in selected Superdrug stores and online here.

Nail of the Day- Barry M Teal

Hey guys!

So I got back from my trip to liverpool last night. Had such a fun time. Me and the boyfriend also ventured up to Manchester on Tuesday for the day for our anniversary which was a lot of fun! Did lots of shopping too! I will have a haul up around the end of this month just so I can do a summary of my purchases for that month.

So my nail look today is actually a nail polish I bought while over in Liverpool. I bought this at a huge Barry M stand in Superdrug. I really wish we had more Superdrug's here in Ireland, as it is a lot cheaper than Boots!

For my nail look I used my Revlon Colorstay basecoat. This is by far the best basecoat I've used. It really evens out my nails and dries super fast too!
I then went on to paint my nails using Barry M's 'Teal' nail polish. This is a gorgeous greeny/ turquoise duo-chrome polish with hints of green. It's a great colour for summer.
Then to finish off this look I used my Revlon Colorstay topcoat. This is also another favourite topcoat of mine, I use this over my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri if I have more time to do my nails. This gives my nails an almost gel-like finish. It also makes my nail polish last for up to a week if needs be!
So I hope you enjoyed this, and if you have any questions of comments please feel free to leave them below!

What do you think? Would you wear a colour like this?

My MAC lipstick collection

Afternoon all!

I have a busy week ahead, as I am heading off to Liverpool on Monday for a few days, and I wanted to do a post before I headed off. This post was actually a request from a reader of my blog. I had wanted to do a post about my MAC lipsticks for quite a while.

I thought I would add a little disclaimer before I begin. Most of my MAC lipsticks I own, I mostly get from Back 2 MAC. If you aren't familiar with this process, it's basically where you return SIX empty MAC containers- these can include empty foundations, eyeshadows. Pretty much any glass or plastic. In return for these you can choose any MAC lippy of your choice, excluding the Viva Glam range. I really like how MAC are encouraging recycling, it's great that they give you something in return. I wish other companies would follow suit!

I store my MAC lipsticks in a desk organiser from Muji, this was very inexpensive at only €4. I like to organise my lipsticks by their finishes, Lustre, Matte etc. I store them upside down as I can read all of the names easily.

Anyway on with the post!

I will go through each lipstick by finish.

Amplified

Fast Play
This is a gorgeous browny/ pink colour.

Chatterbox
This is a beautiful pinky/ coral colour- great for summer!

Watch Me Simmer
A bright pinky/ orange- this came out as part of MAC's Shop MAC, Cook MAC collection, as well as their Reel Sexy collection.

Full Fuchsia
A bright fuchsia pink- this is a PRO colour, so it is only available in the MAC PRO stores.

Up The Amp
A gorgeous lavender/ violet colour.

Saint Germain
This is one of MAC's best-sellers, it's quite similar to the Lady Gaga lipstick. This is a bluey/ pink pastel colour.

Girl About Town
This is quite similar to Full Fuchsia, but with more purple undertones to it.

Satin
Fresco
A browny/ orange colour, very similar to Fast Play.

Twig
A brownish pink colour. This was my very first MAC lipstick, it probably should have been thrown out years ago, but I'll probably keep it just for sentimental reasons!

Pink Nouveau
A gorgeous bright corally/ pink colour.

Snob
A lovely mauve pink colour with some slight blueish undertones.

Matte
Honey Love
This is definitely my go to nude colour. It doesn't wash out my pale skin as it has brown and pink undertones to it.

Viva Glam I
I think this is Viva Glam I- This was given to me as a gift years ago, I can't make out the name. It's a browny/ red colour, far too dark for my complexion though!

Pink Plaid
This is very similar to Snob. This is a pink with blue undertones to it.

Lustre
Pink Popcorn
This is a beautiful lavender lipstick. Don't be fooled by the look! This goes on lovely and sheer- great colour for summer! This was part of MAC's Reel Sexy collection.

Plumful
A gorgeous purple plum colour.

Cockney
This is the only red MAC lipstick I own. It's great as it's not as intense on the lips with it being a lustre finish. I really need to start wearing this more!

Cremesheen
Creme Cup
This is another one of MAC's best- selling lipsticks, it's a beautiful pinky nude colour, and a really wearable shade for daytime.

Speed Dial
This is a beautiful light bluey pink colour with a hint of coral- also loving this for Summer!

Frost
Angel
This is too another one of MAC's popular lipsticks, it is quite similar to Creme Cup, but with more pink undertones to it.

Glaze
Hue
This is a very pretty nudey gloss colour with pink undertones- a perfect colour for daytime.

Pro Longwear Lipcreme
Overtime
This is a gorgeous pinky/ coral colour- this is definitely one of my favourite lipsticks I own. I bought this in a CCO in Belfast. This has a lovely creamy finish to it.

I hope you enjoyed my lipstick collection. If you have any questions or requests, leave them below :)

Do you own any of these shades?
How do you store your makeup?
