Christmas Wishlist

Hi guys!

So I thought with it almost December I thought I would show you some items I am hoping to receive for Christmas, or even pick up during the sales!

I was hoping to get the Clarisonic Mia 2 with some birthday money, but I decided to hold off and think about it for a little longer. I have oily/combination skin and I'm not sure whether my skin would benefit from using this?! If you've tried or own one yourself please let me know what you think!

What's on your Christmas list?

Clarins Odyssey Eye Palette- Review+Swatches!

I have been really impressed with Clarins products lately, and with the release of their latest Limited Edition Odyssey Christmas Collection I have just fallen even more in love with this brand.

I adore the luxe packaging of these products, these would make a fabulous gift for anybody. I love the choice of colours in this palette, these colours can work for daytime and night time looks and is a great alternative to the Naked palette if you're looking for something more compact.

The colours in this palette are great for any Christmassy look as it features a beautiful golden brown colour, a gorgeous foil-like gold eyeshadow which is just absolutely stunning, a taupe-brown shade great for a subtle smokey eye and a lovely champagne highlight colour.

The eyeshadows are really pigmented and creamy, making them so easy to work with and are so easily blendable.

This palette retails for €40 and is available wherever Clarins products are sold.

Have you tried anything from this collection?

Maybelline Baby Lips- Review + Swatches!

It's so great to be finally back! I have finally overcome the jetlag to do a post here.

I had a great couple of days in New York and couldn't help but feel a little gutted returning last Thursday, but I am glad to be finally getting back into the swing of things!

When I arrived I headed straight to the local drugstore (or chemist!), I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed at the amount of products available, and at such affordable prices! There are also quite a few products available there that can be hard to get our hands on here, not to mention beauty brands that aren't available to us here in Ireland.

I headed straight for the Maybelline stand and picked up all six shades (a bit much, I know!) of the Baby Lips lip balms. These lip balms are so moisturising on the lips and not sticky at all, they also add a lovely tint to the lips. Unfortunately these aren't available here in Ireland (Why?! I don't know). I'm sure you could pick these up from eBay.

Grape Vine- This smells a-mazing! and leaves a gorgeous subtle berry shade. Love this one for daytime.

Peppermint- This has a yummy fresh minty taste to it, great if you just want your lips to be moisturised without colour. It also has SPF 20 which is also handy for everyday.

Pink Punch- I adore the smell of this one! Smells like cocktails or something haha (don't ask! :P) this has a lovely light pink tint to it which makes it really wearable.

Cherry Me- This has to be one my favourites of the bunch, I adore the 'fake' cherry smell, which reminds me of American sweets, the colour payoff on this one is fantastic!

Peach Kiss- I love the colour of this, it's a gorgeous nude-peach, great for daytime.

Quenched- I heard about this one ages ago! This one is similar to the Peppermint one as they both contain SPF 15, unlike the others which are just balms. This would definitely be my no.1 favourite out of the bunch, this smells just like lemonade and tastes so yummy! Would definitely recommend this one for Summer.

Grape Vine, Peppermint, Pink Punch, Cherry Me, Peach Kiss, Quenched

Another thing I love about these is the cute packaging, I would be lying if I said this isn't what attracted me to them. They're so bright and colourful and smell amazing! These definitely stand out to me in my makeup drawer. These retailed for about $7 each which isn't too bad considering you get a lot of product for the price (4.4g/0.15OZ).

Have you tried Baby Lips lip balms?

MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection- My Picks!

This is a scheduled post as I am currently on holidays, I will reply to any comments when I return :)

Hey lovelies,

I was quite excited to hear MAC were releasing a Marilyn Monroe Collection to commemorate Marilyn's death 50 years ago.

I was only drawn to one product from this collection, and this was the lipstick in Love Goddess. This is a beautiful pink-berry colour, which is great for this time of year. It is a satin-finish lipstick so this is really creamy while also being semi-matte. I regret not getting more lipsticks from this collection.

Overall the other products in this collection didn't really grab my attention. I also wasn't a fan of their packaging, it looked really cheap, I feel they could have done something more.

Favourite Berry lip products!- Swatches!

This is a scheduled post as I am currently on holidays, I will reply to any comments when I return :)

Hi guys,

As we are getting in to Winter I am really embracing the darker lip colours. I have never been one to wear bold lip colours until now.

A lot of my favourites are drugstore, which makes them more accessible and very affordable. I know a lot of these products aren't all lipsticks

Here are some of my favourite berry lip products.

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie, Rimmel Kate Moss #107, MAC Marilyn Love Goddess, Topshop Beguiled, Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Crush

Revlon Lip Butter- Berry Smoothie: This is a gorgeous creamy lip balm tint, these are so moisturising and last really well on the lips.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Matte finish #107: This has been one of my favourite lipsticks since buying this last month. It lasts so long on the lips and is really smooth and creamy to apply and is so pigmented. I have done a review on these lipsticks which you can check out here.

MAC Marilyn in Love Goddess: I adore this lipstick and this was the one that stood out to me from this collection, it is a beautifully pink-berry colour with a satin finish so it is really creamy while also being semi-matte. These lipsticks are really pigmented!

Topshop Beguiled: I rarely buy Topshop makeup, but while on a recent trip I decided to check out their latest offerings. This lipstick immediately jumped out at me. These are really pigmented also and last absolutely ages! This is a really deep satin-finish lipstick. I will be definitely be checking out more from the Topshop makeup range.

Revlon Kissable Balm stain- Crush: I know this isn't a lipstick as such, but this was the product which got me into the berry shades. These give a slight tint to the lips and leave them quite moisturised. I'm not too keen on the smell of these though, but that wouldn't put me off using them.

Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate- Review+Swatches!

This is a scheduled post as I am currently on holidays, I will reply to any comments when I return :)

Hey beauties!

Since starting my blog I have read a lot about Korres products and the brand in general. I have heard a lot of hype surrounding their lip butters, which I definitely think these are worth the hype! So recently I bit the bullet and ordered one from Feel Unique

I was a little skeptical at first, but I have to say I absolutely adore these. I got the Pomegranate one and love it! These are quite similar to the Revlon lip butters, but definitely more creamy and pigmented.

I definitely see this becoming a staple in my makeup bag, it gives just the right amount of colour and lasts ages! I will definitely be stocking up on some more colour while I am away.

Korres describe their lip butters as: a buttery lip balm that melts on the lips and offers a shiny, tinted finish. The combination of Shea butter and Rice wax offers deep hydration and softness. Ideal for chapped lips.

I would definitely say these are slightly better quality than the Revlon lip butters and last a lot longer. They are also so much more moisturising, so this will be great for colder days as it hydrates the lips and will prevent them from drying out.

Korres can be quite difficult to get a hold of in Ireland, but I believe it is available in House of Fraser in Dundrum and I believe Arnotts also stock Korres products. As well as FeelUnique and are around €9.

Have you tried any Korres products?

Favourite makeup brushes

This is a scheduled post as I am currently on holidays, I will reply to any comments when I return :)

Hey guys,

I love reading favourites posts, so I decided I would do one of my own with a little twist. I love reading product recommendations so I thought I would share with you some of my favourite makeup brushes.

Sigma F80- This flat top kabuki brush is great for buffing foundation into the skin, this is quite similar to the Real Techniques Buffing brush but this is completely flat and gives a flawless finish.

MAC 203- I love this brush for my brows, the bristles are tightly packed so gives a really defined look, I have yet to try this with gel liner.

MAC 217- This is literally my holy grail blending brush, I own two of these and love them. If you're on the hunt for a great blending brush this is definitely it!

MAC 129- This was my first MAC brush which I purchased about 5 years ago and it's still going strong, it just shows you if you take good care of your brushes they really do last. I use this for applying blusher and powder products.

Real Techniques Expert Face brush- This too is great for foundation, the bristles are tightly packed on this so you get quite a heavier coverage with this one, but it is great and blends out my foundation beautifully.

Real Techniques Setting brush- I love this brush for applying powder under my eyes or for using with highlighting products on my cheeks, definitely a handy brush to have.

Real Techniques Contour brush- As the name suggests this brush is used for contouring, this applies just the right amount of product and works wonderfully. I also use this brush for powder under the eyes and with highlighting products. This brush is available with the Real Techniques Core Collection.

You can check out Sigma brushes here. Real Techniques are available in selected Boots stores or can be found on Cloud10Beauty.

What are your favourite brushes?

Charles Worthington Salon At Home products- Review!

This is a scheduled post as I am currently on holidays, I will reply to any comments when I return :)

Morning guys!

So recently I decided to change up my haircare routine and decided to include 2 new products.

A little background to my hair- when I was about 14-18 I dyed and bleached my hair. I had pink hair which required dyeing almost every week if not twice a week. Bleaching my hair has left it with dry ends. I have fine hair so this was possible one of the worst things I was doing to my hair.

Over the summer I had some balayage put in, which I love! But this needs some TLC, so I decided I would have a more strict haircare routine, because I want it to look healthier and shiner with no split ends. I have been using a lot of hair oils and masks in my hair and not only has it made it healthier but it is growing a lot quicker and faster.

So while in Boots recently I perused the haircare isles and spotted the Charles Worthington Salon products. I had read a lot about these and thought this is just what my hair needs! I picked up the Overnight Ultimate Hair Healer this is a product which I have never tried and was intrigued to give it a go. I also picked up the Intense Rescue Melting Balm, this is applied 20 minutes before you wash your hair, this is definitely my favourite of the two and smells amazing!

The Overnight Ultimate Hair Healer is an overnight deep conditioning treatment, this works to strengthen and reinforce damaged hair. I love how this product didn't make my hair feel greasy or heavy and didn't leave any residue on my pillow. I really liked how my hair felt after using this and my split ends didn't appear dull and dead. This is suitable for dry-normal-fine hair and is safe to use on coloured hair.

Overnight Ultimate Hair Healer

Intense Rescue Melting Balm

The Intense Rescue Melting Balm, my favourite of the two is great for damaged hair, this is a deep conditioning treatment and is used 20 minutes before washing your hair, this restores condition to your hair. I noticed results instantly after using this, my hair feels and smells amazing, and it appears shinier and healthier and mends your split ends. This is suitable for dry, normal-thick hair.

I love the packaging of these products and they look really expensive, the packaging is really sleek and expensive looking. These products are a little pricy for drugstore haircare, the Overnight Ultimate Hair Healer set me back €19.99 and the Intense Rescue Melting Balm a whopping €22.99, but for products that work I really don't mind forking over that amount, my hair will be benefiting from it so definitely worth it.

Overall I really like this range and will definitely be checking out more products from it.

Charles Worthington Salon at Home products can be found in selected Boots stores

Slimming World Update #2!

Hey guys!

So since my last update I have had a major achievement- I reached my 1 stone target! I reached this last Wednesday (sorry I'm a little late with the update!). To say I was delighted would be an understatement.

The plan is great and this month got to try a few recipes which were delish! If you would like any recipes let me know. I am finding the plan a lot easier that I had initially thought, but eating out can be quite difficult. Also this Friday I will be heading to New York for 5 days so I'm quite nervous how I am going to stick to the plan, but I will try and plan ahead for that. I will definitely allow myself a few treats though (it's a holiday!).

I am already looking forward to what this month will bring and am hoping I lose another by Christmas.

My total weight loss to-date has been 16 1/2 pounds

Kate Moss Rimmel Matte Lipsticks- Review + Swatches!

Morning guys!

I have to admit I have never been a huge fan of Rimmel lipsticks....until now! With the release of the Kate Moss Lasting Matte Finish lipsticks in early October, I heard a lot of hype surrounding these, I can definitely see why.

Not only are they long lasting but they hardly need to be touched up throughout the day, these lipsticks last a good 5-6 hours on me before needing to be touched up.

These lipsticks are available in 5 shades, 4 of which I have.

101, 111(Kiss of Life), 107, 110 (not pictured!)

I am so impressed with these lipsticks and am hoping Rimmel release more shades, the formula is so creamy and they apply beautifully without tugging on the lips.

#101: This is a gorgeous nudey/pink colour and is a great dupe for MAC Snob lipstick except at a third of the price!

#111 Kiss of Life: This is the only lipstick from the range to be given a name. It's a beautiful cherry red shade that is a great colour for Christmas and I can definitely see myself wearing this a lot this Christmas.

#107: This has been my favourite from this entire range. It is a gorgeous deep berry/plum shade that is great for all year round. I have worn this colour almost everyday since buying it last month. This is a great dupe for Deeply Adored from the MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection. I have included this one in my October Favourites you can read more about that here.

#110: This is a beautiful bright pinky/coral colour which is really on trend at the moment, this would be great for Christmas also. I can definitely see myself getting a lot of wear out of this one!

101, 111, 107, 110

At €6.95 these are an absolute bargain! The quality is amazing, they smell lovely too. They are available in a massive range- from a nude, pink, red, coral and a berry shade which are really on trend at the moment.

Rimmel is available from selected chemists and Boots stores nationwide.

Have you tried the new Rimmel Matte lipstick range?

October Favourites

Evening lovelies!

I can't believe I am writing another favourites post, it seems like yesterday I was writing my September favourites!

So October for me was a busy month, settling back in to college, early starts and late nights, which has left my skin a little worse for wear.

I decided this month to switch things up a little and shop my stash to recover some old favourites of mine.

Here are some of the products I have been loving this month:

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation: this is relatively new to me but I have been wearing it almost everyday since buying this almost 2 weeks ago. Check out my review on this here.

Caudali√© Beauty Elixir: I picked this up while on holiday in Italy in August and have been using this almost everyday this month. I spray this on after cleansing my skin and I then apply my moisturiser. I haven't noticed much of a difference, but my skin is feeling smoother and looking a lot clearer so I am going to put it down to using this product.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Matte Finish lipstick #107: I have been really into wearing deep berry/red shades this month which is totally unlike me. This has been my go-to berry shade in my collection and have been wearing it to death this month. This is a great dupe for Deeply Adored from the Marilyn Collection from MAC. Couldn't recommend it more!

Elizabeth Arden Rose Illuminator: I bought this way back in April and have fallen back in love, this is great if you are looking for a subtle highlight. I adore rose gold so I can definitely see myself using this a lot more this month.

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo #40- Permanent Taupe: This has become my go-to eye product of the month, I use this along with Satin Taupe eyeshadow from MAC and a Rimmel Scandaleyes liner in Taupe. I blend this all with a MAC 217 blending brush to create the perfect daytime smoky eye look. I have been wearing this look a lot this month.

MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow: As I mentioned already I have been pairing this eyeshadow with the Maybelline Color Tattoo and Rimmel eyeliner. These three products really compliment each other nicely.

Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof kohl #4 Taupe: Since the launch of these liners at the beginning of the month there has been a lot of hype surrounding them, now I can see why. These last ages on the waterline without smudging and they are waterproof!? As mentioned I have been pairing this with my Maybelline Color Tattoo and Satin Taupe from MAC, which all work great for a subtle daytime smoky eye.

Maybelline Color Tattoo, Rimmel Scandaleyes liner, MAC Satin Taupe

Lush Ponche shower gel: Since the release of the Lush Christmas products in October I went along to pick up my beloved Snow Fairy to discover Ponche. I bought a smaller bottle to try it out and immediately fell in love! So I went out the next day to buy the full size and haven't looked back. I have to admit I am liking this one a lot more than my Snow Fairy (I know!) I adore orange scents so that may be why it appeals a lot more to me.

Soap & Glory Thick & Fast mascara: Since first discovering this mascara last year I have loved it, this is my second tube! I rekindled my love with it early in October and have been using it ever since, it really defines my lashes and makes them appear a lot longer, I wouldn't say it adds volume to my lashes but it separates my lashes beautifully. I have noticed Soap & Glory have released a new similar mascara so I will definitely be trying that one out since I was so impressed with this one.

Topshop Pastel Animal Print scarf: I am rarely one to buy something full price from Topshop, but I decided to treat myself to this having lost my first half stone in the middle of October through Slimming World which you can read more about here. I am a huge lover of scarves so I thought this would be perfect. This goes really well with my khaki army jacket and is really versatile. This is still available from Topshop.

What are your favourites this month?
